Project Details:

Nupche Likhu Hydropower Project is located at Ramechhap district which utilizes water from Both Nupche and Likhu river. Water diverted from Nupche river and Likhu river is proposed to meet at the tunnel junction via headrace pipes and thereafter water will pass through single tunnel, buried steel penstock and then steel lined vertical shaft and steel lined tunnel to the powerhouse to generate the electric power. The project area consists of gneiss, migmatites and schist as the major composition of rock. The light to dark grey banded gneiss which was fresh to slightly weathered in most of outcrops.

The head works site of Nupche and Likhu river is located about 6-7 km upstream from the confluence of Nupche and Likhu river. At the head works site of both river, the river gradient is very high and riverbed composed of huge boulders. Thick old moraine deposits are presented between valley wall and river banks as like terraces. The lower part has boulder dement material whereas the upper part is gravelly dominated. The upper part of the deposit is loose and unconsolidated in compare to lower part.
